22 & 23 October

Kunstinstituut Melly organized, together with the Jan van Eyck Academie, the two-day conference AFFECTIVE GRAPHIC DESIGN. Centering on the dialogues between visual arts and graphic design, this international conference included four online events and eight live programs, and involved more than 20 speakers from The Netherlands and abroad.

Among these live and online programs was a panel on Collective Design on Saturday 23 Ocotber that presented two design teams: the student collective Studio 4oo2 in Jakarta, who designed the visual identity for Documenta 15 in Kassel; and the group of graphic designers from Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem who created the visual identity of Kunstinstituut Melly in 2021, represented in this program by Callum Dean, Wooseok Jang, Nina Schouten, and Yan Zhihan. Both teams spoke of their commissions and working processes.
